Mahanati is a 2018 Indian Telugu-language drama film based on the life of actress Savitri. It is written and directed by Nag Ashwin. Story:
Madhuravani (Samantha) is a journalist in Madras, later she takes up the job of an actress while she is assigned the role of Savitri. The rest of the story is shown in flashback mode from where Savitri, played by Keerthy Suresh, becomes this legendary actress and how her life ends in all kinds of problems after falling in love with Gemini Ganesan (Dulquer Salmaan).

Keerthy Suresh gets the role of Savitri and gives a knock out performance. Savitri's innocence, her rise to stardom and alcohol addiction, Keerti has portrayed all the emotions perfectly. The first half is quite funny as Savitri's growth as an actress and her love story with Gemini Ganesan is shown in a very interesting way.
Dulquer Salmaan is an apt choice to play the role of Mithun Ganesan. The way he portrays his role with a negative touch is quite good.
Samantha Sheet plays the role of the anchor with perfection. The emotions shown during the climax, he shows the amount of his talent. All her scenes with Vijay Deverakonda are executed quite well.
On the other hand, Savitri shows all the pain and troubles she faced in her life in the second half. All the scenes recreating the hit songs and scenes from famous movies of Savitri look spectacular on screen as Keerthy Suresh looks like a replica of Savitri.
