This fantasy drama definitely had good moments and an interesting story. Director Guhan has described the film well for the most part. Yet it is replete with illogical examples and over the top drama while minimizing the overall impact for the audience.

Kalyan Ram is fine as an investigative journalist. Be it his looks, or the way he portrayed serious emotions throughout the film, Kalyan Ram was impressive and carried the film on his shoulders.

Shalini Pandey fully supports Kalyan Ram and plays his role well.

Nivetha Thomas once again proved what a strong artist she is. And you would think she should have got the lead role. Although she is late in the proceedings, she does well with her emotional act. His performance in a particular scene in the hospital was very touching.

The way the concept of Lucid Dreaming is linked to the story is good. There is good thrill in the first half and the way every aspect of the story has been handled is just right. The thrill shown in the film is tremendous in the first half and generates good interest for the audience.

After a fast pace in the first half, things slow down as soon as the flashback of Nivetha Thomas begins. The director illustrates the same old concept of corporate fraud.

The action in the second half is also predictable as at times you feel like you have seen such things before.

Decision:

Overall, 118 is a simple yet clean thriller film that can be watched without any expectations. There are good moments in the story and the suspense is executed well. But the flashback in the second half slows things down a bit. Barring that, the film gives a classy feel.
